Blueface is by far the most popuar rapper to come out of California in the past two years and his recent interview on Sway in the Morning was far from boring as he discussed his rise to fame with his project 'Famous Cryp' and his hit single 'Thotiana'.

Sway in the Morning & Blueface

“One of the most popular guys coming out of the West coast right now!” - Sway

The interview commences with 'Blueface' openly discusses his involvement with the 'Schoolyard Cryps' of West Los Angeles and explains how the money he received while partaking in gang-related crime ultimately helped fund his music career. We learn that before his music career took off, he won a sports scholarship for American Football and attended Fayetteville State University. He divulges, further telling us that when he dropped out of university he moved back to LA and lived with his grandmother as his mother had re-located to Ohio while he was in university. While living with his grandmother he crashed a car and was struggling to make ends meet trying to find employment. After releasing a steady stream of singles 'Blueface' talks about how he came around to be managed by 'wack100' who eventually signed him to 'Cash Money West' a record label exclusively for West Coast rap artists. He states that at first he was nervous with a lot of people approaching him and reaching out through social media claiming they could help him he didn't know who was genuine and who was fake.

As the interview progresses 'Blueface' talks about the message he wants to spread with his music. Messages about having fun and turning up and he even raps a short freestyle around the thirteen minute mark. Then listeners get a feel for 'Bluface's' music as we are introduced to the song 'Studio'

Phone-ins

“Lately i have been working with Cole Bennett I f*ck with him.”

As the interview transitions into the artist Q&A phone-in segment, 'Blueface' was asked which artists, producers and videographers he plans on working with in the future. He highlighted his affinity for videographer Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade and said he hoped to make a track with producer DJ Mustard.

Overall a highly informative in-depth interview with the up and coming LA sensation.
