From an old school perspective, the last song I heard from Dizzee Rascal was on a D'onaeo track. I saw posters of his Raskit Album all around London, but, unfortunately, never heard the songs.
After His controversial appearance with Piers Morgan on GMB (which he handled brilliantly), he revealed that he was one of the headliners of the innovative Drive Inn Festivals and revealed his new album was due for release in September. My brother Ike can’t wait and even I am intrigued.
As for ‘Act Like You Know’, the track and the video were good. The video followed the trends of recent UK music videos. It definitely had a drill vibe, but had a 50/50 balance with Dizzee maintaining the street, yet also remaining current.
The beat for ‘Act Like You Know’ was definitely dark, but nothing original and I cant imagine this banging in the clubs but fuck it, they’re not open anyway so who gives a shit.

The beat was too drill influenced for me and as one of the pioneers of Grime, lets hope Rascal’s new album has some future classic grime tracks. For now we'll await with baited breath.
This new release features South London’s very own Smoke Boys, who here, I heard for the first time. They were decent, however, I was slightly disappointed and felt that they did not go hard enough considering the co-sign and the platform given. Despite this, they have been going since 2010, have had an album in the top 40 and have won a MOBO so I can’t deny their hustle. This was better than their previous solo outings as well so there you go.
Lyrically, for me, the best line of the song comes from the Boy in da Corner “Killies on the pay roll no joke, No joke its dagger and cloak. Had to act like I didn’t want smoke. Had to act like a focused bloke when they come around for an ego stroke”. Fire Fire Fire camp oh no wait wrong crew haha.
Dizzee's album ‘E3 AF’ is due for release at a postponed date of October 9th, 2020.
