Is TikTok going to blow up artists??

As of recent the app TikTok has been gaining more and more popularity as a social media platform. TikTok is 2020's answer to Vine. Users can only post videos with the maximum being 15 seconds.

However, one phenomenon you are guaranteed to find on TikTok is a dance challenge. In fact they are extremely popular now and are popularizing songs that, before the challenge, would have gone unheard.

For instance, as of recent I have come across 3 very popular dance challenges. Megan Thee Stallions 'Savage' challenge. The K Kamp 'Lottery/Renegade' (my favourite) Challenge and the 'Don't Rush' Challenge.

A lot of these songs begin as underground hits which then spread like wildfire because of their catchy beats and danceability. TikTok could be where a lot of artists catch a break with their music now. I had never heard of K Kamp until I watched a TikTok video of the Renegade dance challenge. Now I am a fan. this is the potential that TikTok has to not just spread joy through dance and comedy but also put people onto quality music.
