Soundcloud Producer Picks

SoundcCoud has played a massive part in Hip-hop with artists such as Lil Uzi vert, Tekashi 6ix 9ine and many others starting out their careers on the platform.

SoundCloud is great for showcasing your musical talent but still there are a plethora of underground producers who do not get that mainstream recognition and cult following.

I lived by SoundCloud in 2016 and 2017 when I was looking for producers to work with and found that Soundcloud is home to a community of producers who break the mould, think outside the box and creatively transform genres, pushing all the boundaries.

Summer is a season of easy listening and relaxation and with that being said I want to share with you some of the producers whose work I fell in love with.

ELETE

Elete produces a nice variety of music but it's his unique, uplifting take on Trap that I love. Elete is heads and shoulders above your standard hip-hop producer because his music is progressive. It's not just an 808 and a melody. There's all sorts of percussion that slowly adds to the rhythm, there's airy pads that slowly rise and the vocal samples that break any repetition. I have picked out a personal favourite entitled 'Restless'. It sounds like trap but then you realize it is not dark, it is uplifting and progressive. CAPSHUN

I have been listening to Capshun for years since around 2015 where I ran across his instrumental 'Vibe With Me' on SoundCloud. Now Capshun is different to Elete in the sense that there is not as much percussion. Capshun keeps his drums simple, the melody's are experimental but if we listen to the track in its entirety the melody that seemed odd add the beginning actually becomes the backbone of a soothing easy listening melody. Again Capshun is an artist who pushes the boundaries of Trap and I have selected his instrumental entitled 'Here' to showcase his talent. NERDSKULL

My third and final pick is a producer that I have collaborated with in the past and actually have a relationship with and his name is Nerskull. Nerdskull is truly under the radar and is a great talent. Nerdskull is a fusion artist. I would say I hear Trap, Future music and some old skool dubstep elements as well. Nerdskull makes the type of music I would love to hear on a rooftop bar under the sky. Not to extreme but not soft either. Nerdskull strikes that balance.
