Summer Rooftops in London

Updated: May 15, 2019

As we enter the summer season it's time to get out of the box nightclubs and into the beer gardens and rooftop bars. As the days get longer and the weather gets better where else would you want to be? Here is our rundown of the best rooftop venues in the capital.

DALSTON ROOF PARK

A serene, green rooftop space that turns from a tranquil pub during the day to a live music venue at night and with a speaker system just like your favourite London night clubs relax and let the DJ take care of the rest. Plus, on the 'Dalston Strip' you are spoilt for choice, so when you're finished on the rooftop you can make your way to another Dalston spot and drink away.

PRINCE OF WALES

The Prince of Wales provides a similar experience to the Dalston Roof Park, but, as a result of its location in Brixton it is far more accessible with Brixton tube station a 2min walk down the road. The Prince of Wales rooftop is also on two levels meaning more sky views for more people. There is also 3 rooms of music inside so we're dealing with a triple threat here. A must go!

QUEEN OF HOXTON

Queen of Hoxton offers a slightly less musical rooftop with most of the live music being played inside. The rooftop bar at the Queen of Hoxton is relaxing. I would say an ideal fit for a group of friends wanting an open-air, fresh pre-gaming environment before an summer night out in East London. If you're going to a club in Dalston, Hackney or Shoreditch swing by the Queen of Hoxton for some pre-gaming under the sky.

THE GOLDEN BEE

The Golden Bee has a rooftop bar situated at the top of the building with fantastic views of the surrounding Shoreditch area. The rooftop has its own bar serving up seasonal as well as classic cocktails! There are heaters to keep you warm on those cooler evenings plus they give out blankets to those feeling chilly. With speakers situated around the entire rooftop you are able to enjoy a cocktail whilst listening to the DJ playing downstairs in the Main Bar. The Golden Bee has an extremely modern motif with fluorescent lights and mirrored furniture as well as an open fire.

These are our picks. When summer arrives you find that a lot of the alleged roof top bars are designed for city workers in suits and ties and after work cocktails with NO music. We have hand selected the rooftops where young people will be fully catered for with music and lots of exciting events.
