Earlier this year, UK Grime artist Wiley labelled Canadian rapper Drake a culture vulture in a harsh twitter rant as he Drake brought out UK artists on his tour.
Wiley made the claim via Twitter:

However, Drake did not take this lying down and responded hastily in an interview on BBC1 Xtra. Saying "I hate that people think me being into music from these kids who are trying to make it" expounding "would you rather me not acknowledge anything?!"
The debate around the assimilation of culture and cultural appropriation has dominated conversation within the UK urban music scene as Wiley continues to cause online havoc with his opinion. However, a multitude of Uk artists have jumped out to defend Drake.

At the Ivor Novello nominations launch on Wednesday, Ghetts said: "I feel like Drake working with the artists over here has made the music economy better. ‘We’ve benefited more from it than he has and that’s just me being honest. I can see first hand how it’s changed some of my peers’ lives so for me to sit here and say that he’s a culture vulture would be a lie."
Tinie Tempah also weighed in on the ‘culture vulture’ debate saying, "When it comes to that term, I don’t really see anything wrong with it because I think we all do it in some way."
However Wiley still hasn't stopped and doesn't look like he's going to anytime soon.
